Hi! I’m Jake - a big, cuddly, squeaky, Teddy Bear!
Jake needs no introduction. He bounds into a room like a welcome ray of sunshine on an overcast day, lifting your spirits with his endearing charm and the permanent smile on his face sweet face. He will be the first to rush towards you, whining sweetly for your attention, welcoming and reciprocation your affection. This charming, happy-go-lucky boy may have started life as a stray, toughing it out on the streets with only his spirit and will to survive—but that part of his story only adds to the beauty of who he is now. A water-baby at heart, the moment Jake spots a pool, he transforms into a giddy child—whining excitedly to be let off his leash so he can run straight into the water, where he can peacefully soak without a care in the world. On land, Jake walks proudly on leash, bushy tail high, spirits higher. He wears his ‘heart on his paw’ and does have a flair for the theatrical, but one look into his soulful eyes, those deep pools of ebony, and you won’t know what hit you; you’ll be pulled in, willingly, hopelessly. Jake has shared his kennel with many dogs over the years and generally gets along well with his similar sized or larger buddies, with the exception of small dogs and cats (a definite no). He will want you and your affection all to himself, and will happily share the love with other humans, but he will not share your attention with other dogs. Big dogs, people of all ages—those are his tribe. He wants connection, and once he gives you his heart, it’s all yours. His leg has an old fracture from his street days—a little crooked, a little wonky—but it never holds him back. He’s active, bright, and full of bounce. With his endearing charm and insatiable thirst for attention, Jake is not just young at heart—he is heart. He’s laughter, loyalty, and life in a four-legged body. He’s for someone who understands what it means to be a little weathered, a little particular, but still overflowing with love.
