ABOUT ME

Dot is a 5 year old mixed breed female who was rescued off the streets when she was just a puppy. She grew up in an overcrowded shelter, sharing kennels with at least 10 other dogs at a time in a very high-stress environment. Although she enjoys being with other dogs, unfortunately, and possibly due to her gentle and submissive nature, Dot has had to endure repeated bullying, and was moved to different kennels at the shelter several times as a result. In recent years, this tender girl was twice rushed to the vet with deep bite wounds. She never fought back. But despite it all, Dot remains remarkably tender. She’s not be the kind of dog who will confidently rush up to strangers — trust takes time for her, and rightly so. Yet those who’ve spent time with her will tell you: earning Dot’s trust is like unlocking a quiet kind of magic. Her eyes soften. Her tail gently wags. She begins to lean into your presence, quietly letting you know you’re now part of her safe place. Dot is still learning about the world — leash walks, new surroundings, and especially the comfort of human companionship. But she’s making beautiful progress every day. What she needs most is a kindred spirit — someone who sees past her hesitation and understands that beneath it lies a heart still willing to trust with her whole heart. She just needs to know it’s finally safe to do so. She may not be the life of the party (yet!), but Dot will be the quiet joy in your life. A warm presence on your couch. A soft nuzzle when you least expect it. A reminder that love earned slowly can be the most meaningful of all. Dot is ready — ready to leave the noise and fear behind and step into a life where she has the love and security she was robbed of when she was left orphaned all those years ago.
